Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics company, today announces it has signed three leases in France totalling over 15,000 sqm as it sees growing demand for high quality space close to urban centres.
The first lease agreement sees SOS Accessoire, a fast-growing French startup selling spare parts for the household appliances and helping consumers diagnose and repair them, take a 6,545 sqm property to the south west of Paris. With direct access to the Central Business District via the A2 and N10 highways, the property will enable SOS Accessoire to relocate its headquarters and meet growing demand for its products and services.
As part of the lease, Mileway will undertake a complete refurbishment of the property upgrading existing features such as the 14 loading docks, ramps, doors and roof vaults to create a high-quality facility, purpose-built for urban logistics. The refurbishment will also include upgrading the façade and office space, as well as installing new LED lighting, creating a facility that will meet BREEAM specifications.
Also in the Paris area, Mileway has agreed an expanded lease with TFS, another existing customer and a specialist in logistics services, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution. The agreement sees TFS renew the lease for a 5,760 sqm property and take an adjacent 1,920 sqm vacant unit. The properties, to the north east of Paris are in a highly sought after area for logistics and import and export businesses, due to its close proximity to both Charles du Galle Airport, which is only 10km away, and the A1 highway.
“2021 was fantastic and very busy for Mileway in France with over 65 leases totalling more than 89,000 sqm signed in the second half. This demonstrates the continued demand for high quality last mile logistics assets which connects businesses to the customers and communities they serve.”
Fabien Fridrici, Country Director Mileway
In the Lyon area, Mileway has signed a new 3,240 sqm long term lease with an existing customer, who is a major provider of global transportation and logistics services. The property is located north of the city’s central business district, which is fast becoming an increasingly important hub for logistics given land scarcity and low supply in other parts of Lyon. As part of the lease agreement, the property will be completely redeveloped for the customer’s needs, creating a newly built cross-dock facility with warehouse and office space, loading areas, and a considerable parking area for both cars and trucks. The finished building will target BREEAM certification.
