Mileway goes from strength to strength in Italy
Press release – 8 September 2021
Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, today announces it has agreed leases for more than 32.000 sq m of space across properties with four new customers across Northern Italy. The properties, located in the Lombardy and Bologna regions, provide excellent access to one of the most industrialised areas in Europe, connecting Mileway’s new customers to the consumers and local communities they serve.
The first property, located in Martinengo, Lombardy, is a high-quality space of over 4,800 sq m which has been secured on a long lease by the well renowned global hair and body care company Moroccan Oil. The property benefits from good access to Bergamo’s main highway, connecting the property to the European market.
The second Lombardy property in San Giuliano Milanese, is located close to Milan and the large e-commerce market in the area. This 3000 sq m property is leased to NaturaSì, one of the leading physical and online supermarkets in Italy specialising in organic and biodynamic products. The property gives Natura Si cold storage cell capacity for fresh food delivery, and will be solely used as a last-mile delivery hub to end consumers.
"I am proud that Mileway has been chosen as a partner by these businesses and it is testament to the hard work of our Italy team to deliver flexible and bespoke solutions across all of our properties that meet the needs of the customer. " Mario Costa, Mileway Country Director for Italy
The third property, which provides over 10,000 sq m of space, is located in Bologna Interporto and has been leased to the family-run third-party logistics company, Torello. The property provides ready access to one of the main highways between Bologna and Northern Italy, a prime location for last mile distribution in Torello.
The fourth property is located in San Miniato, Tuscany, and offers over 14,000 sq m of space to new customer, CONAD Nord Ovest operating one of the largest supermarket chains in Italy. The space is of very high condition and quality, benefiting from an excellent strategic location that allows good access and distribution to customers sites.
Mario Costa, Mileway Country Director for Italy, commented: “We are very pleased to have agreed leases with four new customers in Italy which underscore the growing demand for our last mile logistics space from a variety of businesses across the country. I am proud that Mileway has been chosen as a partner by these businesses and it is testament to the hard work of our Italy team to deliver flexible and bespoke solutions across all of our properties that meet the needs of the customer.
