Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, today announces it has signed a long-term lease with Amazon.

Amazon has agreed a long-term lease for a 10,000 sqm delivery station at Mileway’s last mile logistics property in Viernheim, Germany. The property occupies a prime location with excellent highway connectivity to neighbouring areas.

The growth in e-commerce has fueled demand for last mile properties across the continent in recent years. Germany has experienced strong e-commerce growth and 2020 marked a record, with e-commerce sales reaching €83 billion . It is projected that e-commerce sales in Germany will grow to €120 billion by 2024 .

Mileway has been rapidly growing its portfolio of last mile properties across Europe since it launched in September 2019 and now has 1,600 properties across 10 major economies in Europe. In Germany, the company owns more than 200 properties totalling 2.7million sqm with excellent geographic spread, enabling it to serve the needs of its growing and diverse customer base across the country.
