Wales offers great transport connections and key hubs

Our Welsh commercial properties boast excellent connectivity and proximity to major transport links. In business districts like the South Wales Valleys, a network of roads, railways, and ports provides great access to both the UK and the rest of the world. For more rural areas, roads are the most extensive and flexible network for transporting freight, with the A470 travelling from the capital, Cardiff, all the way north to Llandudno.

Wales is home to a number of major commercial ports, with the largest being Milford Haven – the third largest in the UK by volume of freight. Altogether, Welsh ports handled 11.6% of UK freight in 2023.

Major transport connections such as the M4 keep Wales connected, providing easy access to Cardiff Airport for air freight, as well as the rest of the UK. This helps make Wales an attractive choice for both growing and established industries.

Why here, and why Mileway?

In addition to excellent transport links and commercial hubs, many businesses are drawn to Wales for the more economical rents. Businesses also benefit from support from the Welsh Government, with Business Wales helping owners start, run, and grow their operations.

Mileway understands how fulfilment helps drive success for both our clients and the wider economy. With freight transport contributing around £2.5 billion a year to the Welsh economy, it has a profound effect on the surrounding area, creating jobs and driving economic growth. Our local experts can even help you plan future scaling, with our network of industrial properties helping you expand with confidence (even if there is time left on your lease).

As part of our long-term Sustainability strategy, we are also making it a priority to refurbish our properties with energy-efficient technologies. With additions like LED lighting, we aim to reduce our impact on the environment while also helping our clients support their own ESG initiatives. With Mileway, you can go green, save money, and build your environmental credentials.
