Why Rent in Wales?

Mileway in Wales

Wales is a vibrant and modern country with a very rich and proud history of industry and trade. Today, there is even greater diversity in its enterprises and an increasing number of modern facilities to support this growth.

As such, we are constantly evolving our Welsh properties at Mileway, to ensure they remain up-to-date and competitive.

We offer strategically positioned industrial units across Wales that are suitable for businesses of all shapes and sizes – facilitating quicker delivery times, more streamlined operations and happier customers.

Wales has great connections, transport and major hubs

In Wales, our properties boast excellent connectivity and proximity to major transport links. In urban hotspots like the South Wales Valleys, a great network of roads, railways and ports provide great access for our customers to reach the country and the rest of the world. For more rural areas, roads are the most extensive and flexible network for transporting freight, with the A470 connecting the capital Cardiff all the way north to Llandudno.

Wales is also home to 32 ports, with the largest being Milford Haven – the third largest in the UK by volume of freight. Altogether, Welsh ports handle 10% of UK freight accounting for 1.2% of Welsh Gross Value Added (GVA) totalling a value of around £560 million.

Further afield, major transport connections such as the M4 provide our customers with easy access to the rest of the UK.

Why here, and why Mileway?

In addition to excellent transport links and commercial hubs, many businesses are drawn to Wales for the more economical rents. Businesses also benefit from valued support from the Welsh Government, and Business Wales is dedicated to helping owners start, run and grow their business.

At Mileway, contributing to the growth of our customers and the local economy is key. With freight transport contributing around £2.5 billion a year to the Welsh economy, it has a profound effect on the surrounding area and environment with the creation of jobs and driving economic growth. We also know how important it is for you to have flexibility as you grow, so access to the wider Mileway network of properties across Wales and beyond allows you to expand with confidence (even if there is time left on your lease).

As well as constantly expanding our portfolio and providing businesses with new opportunities, we’re making it a priority to refurbish our properties as part of our long term strategy. From the implementation of LED lighting to state-of-the art technologies, we aim to reduce our impact on the environment and ensure that you benefit. This will support your own ESG initiatives, help save money and improve your own green credentials.
