Bristol, UK – 9 July 2026 – Mileway, Europe’s leading last-mile logistics real estate company, has signed Carbase, a leading regional car and van retailer, on a 20-year lease at its asset in Royal Portbury Docks, Bristol.

The c. 60,000 sq ft industrial unit will be fully occupied by Carbase, enabling the business to consolidate its existing premises into a single market-leading facility. The move will strengthen its presence in Bristol and support its long-term growth strategy.

The unit’s location and specification were also key factors in Carbase’s decision to select the site. Situated adjacent to junction 19 of the M5 motorway and next to the Royal Portbury Docks, the facility is approximately six miles north-west of Bristol city centre, providing good connectivity for vehicle preparation, fleet logistics and customer access.

The location will enable Carbase to increase throughput, handle greater volumes and accelerate speed to market. The site is also just a mile from Portway Park and Ride, helping the business attract and retain a skilled workforce.

In addition, Carbase will benefit from a recent refurbishment programme undertaken by Mileway, which has modernised the facility and enhanced its operational capabilities.

Andrew Jones, Co-Head of Real Estate at Mileway said:

“We are pleased to welcome Carbase into Royal Portbury Docks, Bristol. This agreement reflects continued demand for well-located, high-quality last-mile logistics and industrial spaces and highlights our commitment to actively managing and enhancing our portfolio to meet customers’ needs.”

Alex Jones, Chief Operating Officer of Carbase said:

“Royal Portbury Docks gives us the scale, location and operational layout we need for the next stage of Carbase’s growth. This move allows us to consolidate long-standing legacy premises into one market-leading preparation and logistics facility, improving efficiency, vehicle flow, quality control and speed to market.

The site’s proximity to the M5, Bristol and the wider South West is strategically important for our retail and van operations, while the existing automotive fit-out made it a natural fit for our business. This investment strengthens our Bristol base and gives us the capacity to support higher volumes, better processes and an even stronger customer experience for years to come.”
