The North East has excellent transport links

The North East has great commercial transport connections, with busy hubs and efficient access to the rest of the UK. A network of major roads and railways connects the North East, including the East Coast Main Line, which links London to Edinburgh and runs through key cities such as Doncaster, York, Darlington, Durham, and Newcastle.

Mirroring the East Coast Main Line is the A1(M), the North East’s main arterial carriageway. Running from north to south, it connects Scotland to Yorkshire and beyond, eventually meeting the M1. A second north-south dual carriageway link is provided by the A19, which serves Sunderland, Teesside, and Peterlee, before meeting the A1 at Seaton Burn.

The region is also home to several international airports, with Newcastle Airport and Teesside International Airport in Darlington giving businesses across the region access to vital transport routes worldwide. Businesses can also access major commercial ports, such as the Port of Sunderland and Port of Tyne, the latter of which contributes over £700 million annually to the region.

With such connectivity on offer, renting commercial space in the North East can help businesses enjoy faster delivery times, more efficient fulfilment, and happier customers.
