– The tech innovator says “large-scale expansion is now feasible” after more than a decade of continuous innovation

Helsinki, Finland – Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, has signed an additional lease at Atomitie 1 with Starship Technologies, the autonomous robot delivery scale-up, to support its growth across Finland. The company also occupies Mileway space in Stockholm, Sweden, as it continues to scale across Scandinavia.

Atomitie 1 is a newly renovated, multi-tenant warehouse and office complex specially designed to provide flexible space options to suit a variety of business needs, with available units ranging from c. 40 – 1,200 sqm. The site includes office and warehouse units with features  including loading docks, ramps, and social amenity space.

Located in the commercial hub of Pitäjänmäki, Atomitie 1’s strategic location near Ring Roads I and III, the airport and Vuosaari Harbour, and numerous public transport connections to central Helsinki,  provides Starship Technologies with easy access to its customers and a skilled workforce.

Designed to use significantly less energy than traditional delivery methods, the autonomous robots created by Starship Technologies help to reduce the cost and carbon intensity of on-demand and last mile delivery, the most resource-heavy stage of the supply chain.  Founded in 2014, the company is led by one of the early developers of Skype and partners with well-known brands to deliver meals, groceries and supplies via autonomous robots across Europe and the US.

“Starship Technologies is redefining last mile delivery, and as specialists in last mile logistics real estate, we share their commitment to creating a more sustainable future and seamless supply chain. With the company’s large-scale expansion now feasible, we look forward to building on our successful partnership in the years ahead,” said Mileway Country Director Denmark and Finland, Thomas Lauritsen.

“We are transforming last mile logistics globally, making deliveries cleaner, greener and more sustainable. We aim to make everyday life more convenient and bring smiles along the way; and thank Mileway for helping us find the space we need to fuel our growth,” said Starship Technologies VP of People and Internal Infrastructure, Heidy Kerma.
