Paris, France – Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, has officially broken ground on its latest flagship development – Mileway | Parks Arboretum – with the symbolic planting of the first tree at the 69,000 sqm next-generation business park in Le Haillan (33).
A key milestone in the transformation of the former Thales industrial site, and one of the largest development projects currently underway in the Bordeaux region, Mileway | Parks Arboretum forms part of the Bordeaux Aéroparc Metropolitan Interest Operation (OIM). Owned by opportunistic funds managed by Blackstone, Parks Arboretum will consist of ten buildings ranging from 1,600 – 13,000 sqm, tailored to accommodate a diverse range of businesses – from SMEs to large corporations.
The launch event was attended by Christine Bost, President of Bordeaux Métropole and Mayor of Eysines; Andréa Kiss, Mayor of Le Haillan and Vice-President in charge of Urban and Natural Planning; and Aymeric Canivenc, Mileway Country Director France.
“We are incredibly proud to break ground and commence construction of Mileway | Parks Arboretum – a transformative investment for the Bordeaux Metropolitan Area. This next-generation Park will offer flexible, high-quality spaces in a strategic location, enabling companies to optimise last mile logistics and enhance operational efficiency. This development wouldn’t be possible without the strong collaboration with Bordeaux Métropole, the City of Le Haillan, and our partners at Quartus and Agence Franc,” said Mileway Country Director France, Aymeric Canivenc.
The development of Mileway | Parks Arboretum is projected to generate c. 800 jobs, with the first phase set for completion in Q1 2026. This initial phase will feature ten buildings designed to provide flexible space solutions for businesses of all sizes. With construction underway, the project now enters its official marketing launch.
Set within a preserved 37-hectare natural environment, Mileway | Parks Arboretum is designed to blend urban regeneration with environmental stewardship. The development reflects a bold architectural ambition: to breathe new life into a historic site while ensuring a harmonious integration with its surroundings. From material choices and color palettes to building heights and volumes, every detail supports a seamless connection to the landscape.
Situated in Le Haillan, within the dynamic Bordeaux Aéroparc economic hub, the park is just five kilometers from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and close to the Bordeaux ring road. It also provides excellent transport connections, including Tramway Line A and several bus routes.
Mileway | Parks Arboretum expects to meet BREEAM Excellent certification standards, carry the BiodiverCity label for environmental integration, and preserve 25 hectares of historic green space. Additional sustainability features will include a 28,000 sqm rooftop PV installation capable of generating 5 MWp of clean energy – enough to prevent over 3,300 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over 30 years.
The Park will also feature abundant green and shared spaces, including sports trails, pedestrian walkways, outdoor seating areas, a plaza for food trucks, and a shared car park to encourage carpooling.
