London, UK – Through our UK partnership with social mobility charity, The Brokerage, our goal is to co-create a more diverse, inclusive and innovative real estate asset management industry and develop a pipeline of exceptional talent from under-represented backgrounds.
For ten weeks each year across our UK offices, interns and work experience students from less-advantaged backgrounds gain on-the-job experience in the dynamic world of commercial real estate at Mileway, the largest last mile real estate company in Europe.
During their summer internships, Charles Hall, Maeve Clerkin and Femi Bello presented to the Mileway UK asset management teams, sharing their learnings and reflecting on their unique experiences.
“Our partnership with The Brokerage is transformative. Together we’re creating mutual growth by enriching our industry with the fresh perspectives and new ideas of diverse young talent; and simultaneously developing a stream of future leaders and innovators,” says Andrew Jones, Mileway Country Director UK & Ireland.
Mileway is the first property company in the UK to partner with The Brokerage. Since 2022, this collaboration has developed early career pipelines for upcoming talent and provided talented candidates from under-represented and under-resourced groups with life-changing, career-defining paid roles and work experience.
“Speaking at Mileway’s UK Asset Management team event in Birmingham was a celebration of the growth of our partnership to bring more driven, able, diverse talent into real estate asset management. They have gained practical skills that cannot be taught in a classroom,” said Susheel Padda, Head of Income Generation at The Brokerage.
“Our time at Mileway has been so valuable because it has taught us the real-world application of asset management. We’ve had the opportunity to witness firsthand how asset managers handle a variety of last-mile logistic properties,” said interns Avneet Chopra and Charles Hall.
The Brokerage will continue to guide this group on their early career journeys which we are proud to have supported. Applications for the 2025 Internship Programme, managed by The Brokerage, open in April 2025, with internships and work experience commencing in mid-July 2025.
