Gothenburg, Sweden: Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, is supporting the continued expansion of its long-term customer, Ahlsell, with a new logistics centre featuring modern warehouse and office space.

In response to increasing market demand for efficient and sustainable logistics space, Ahlsell, the leading distributor of installation products, tools and supplies in the Nordics, is investing in a new logistics site in Bäckebol – doubling its previous capacity while improving sustainability and efficiency.

Kärra 72:36 at Tagenevägen 34F is strategically located less than ten kilometres north of central Gothenburg – a logistics hub providing direct access to Sweden’s vital E6 transport corridor. This connectivity to central Gothenburg and other regional logistics hubs enables shorter lead times and optimised supply chains.

Sustainability has been a central focus in developing the new logistics site. Office furniture and pallet racking have been repurposed, while optimised logistics flows contribute to lower CO₂ emissions and improved traffic safety in the Gothenburg region. Additional features of the property include a c. 6,500 sqm freestanding warehouse with an open floor plan at ground level for goods handling, six dock doors and a ground-level entrance for loading and staging, fenced perimeter, generous outdoor storage and parking facilities, including EV charging infrastructure.

“We are proud to support the growth of our long-term customer by providing modern, strategically located logistics solutions. This new site enables Ahlsell to improve its logistics flows and efficiently reach its customers through more sustainable modes of transport. We look forward to our continued partnership in the years to come,” said Jacob Goldmann, Mileway Country Director Sweden.

In Malmö and Stockholm, the company leases an additional c. 20,000 sqm of retail and warehouse space from Mileway.

“Our new logistics site is a direct response to our customers’ growing demand for smart and sustainable project logistics. By consolidating material loads and coordinating transport, we reduce the number of heavy vehicles in urban traffic, benefiting both our customers and the city of Gothenburg,” said Elin Pettersson, Sales Manager Project Logistics at Ahlsell Sweden.

“The need for project logistics in Gothenburg is growing rapidly, and our new site plays a key role in optimising the final stage of the supply chain. It enables us to better manage material flows and reduce our customers’ environmental impact from transportation. Thanks to Mileway for providing the strategic space we needed to achieve this,” said Jon Svensson, Head of Project Logistics at Ahlsell Sweden.
